Dr Evelyn Fitzpatrick(AKA “Dr. Fitz”) grew up in Glendale, AZ, and started her multi-college career. First she headed to Colorado State University to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology. Then she started a Master’s Degree in PathoBiology and Infectious Diseases at the University of Arizona just prior to being accepted into the Veterinary Medicine program at CSU. In 1999, she graduated from the CSU College of Veterinary Medicine - but she wasn’t done yet. She started a Master’s degree in Epidemiology at CSU only to be interrupted a year later by the birth of her first child. At that point she decided that small animal practice was safer for her family than playing with BioLevel 4 viruses like Ebola, Hemorrhagic Fever, and Plague. And after a few years working in Arizona, she and her family moved to Colorado Springs in 2006. She has been working in the area ever since.
She hasn’t slowed down since coming back to Colorado either. In 2010, Dr. Fitz helped start Street Petz -- a non-profit charity that vaccinates the pets of the homeless while distributing pet food and supplies to those in need in the Colorado Springs area. Her family also stays busy with 2 girls active with school and soccer (she plays soccer too). And when they’re not on soccer fields, the whole family (husband included) have been active with crossfit over the last 4 years.
Dr. Fitz has two furry family members - Storm, the Weimaraner, and Caliente, the old lady (15 years young) pitbull mix. "
